Maybe the most adventurous tuba player around in Flanders.
Born in '73, he studied the tuba at the Ghent Royal Conservatory with Gustaaf
De Volder. At the same institution he attented also the classes by dr.Godfried-Willem
Raes in avant-garde chamber music, performance, improvisation and introduction
to composition. He was one of the driving forces behind the brass-performance
ensemble 'Exelsior'. He was the spectucular tuba soloist in <Mach96> (Flanders Festival Brabant, 1996). In Godfried-Willem
Raes' streetopera <Rednick>, a complete act was written for him (Tuba-Man). In 1998 he premiered
Godfried-Willem Raes electric guitar composition 'Dynamo'. In 1999 he became
a regular collaborator of the outstanding contemporary music ensemble 'Champs
d'Action'. Since 2000 he has an intense collaboration with Peter Vermeersch
in his 'Larf' project. In 2001 he became a member of the new logos M&M ensemble
and was employed in 2002 on a half time basis at the Logos Foundation. Up to
2004 he collaborated in <M&M> on a free lance basis. Now he disappeared
and rumours go he lives in Chili or Columbia.

Geboren op 4.10.73. Studeerde tuba aan het Gentse konservatorium bij Gustaaf De Volder, naast avant-garde kamermuziek en inleiding in de kompositie bij Dr.Godfried-Willem Raes. Hij is tuba-solist in het Nieuw Vlaams Symfonieorkest en beschikt over een ruime koncertervaring. Ook in kleinere ensembles en experimentele projekten zowel als solistische naast groepsperformances kan hij bogen op een ruime artistieke ervaring. Zo was hij een van de drijvende krachten achter de performance-fanfare groep 'Exelsior'.
Hij was de spektakulaire tuba-solist in <Mach96> (Festival van Vlaanderen Brabant, 1996). Ook in <Rooie Niki> van Godfried-Willem Raes werd hem een heel bedrijf op het lijf geschreven:
<Tuba-Man>. In 1999 werd hij, vanuit zijn specialisatie in nieuwe muziek,
muzikaal medewerker van het ensemble 'Champs d'Action'. In 2001 vervoegde hij
het Logos M&M ensemble. Hij was van 2001 tot 2002 halftijds bij Stichting
Logos voor de artistieke produktie tewerkgesteld. Tot 2004 werkte hij bij <M&M>
op een free-lance basis. Dan verdween hij. Het gerucht gaat dat hij thans in
Chili of Columbia leeft.
